Progress invoices

Introduction

Enable, create and use progress invoices in your company's workflow, ensuring all payments are catalogued and accounted for quickly and easily.


Enable progress invoices 


  1. Navigate to Settings > Quotes, then look for the Progress invoice" setting

  2. Check the "allow creation of progress invoices" setting, 

  3. Save quote settings to enable progress invoices. 


Creating a progress invoice



InfoNote: Generating a progress invoice requires it to be created via a completed QUOTE / ESTIMATE.
Ensure the Quote is approved before creating a progress invoice.
  1. Open an accepted quote document. 
  2. proceed to "convert" > "convert to invoice" 
  3. To create a progress invoice, select either of the following, and then click "next" to confirm. 
    1.  "invoice custom amount or percentage" and select from the dropdown to select percentage of the whole invoice to charge, or a specific amount, and enter the value to the right. 
    2. "invoice custom amount for each line item" to set specific amounts to pay for each individual item in the generated invoice.
  4. Generated invoice will be editable and reviewable, review final amounts.
    1. As for invoices generated with the "custom amount for each item" option, each line item in the "items" table will have a new field "to be invoiced" that can be set as percentage and set amount, to be filled in manually
  5. Double check all fields are filled and correct, then click "save" or whichever option is required. 

Invoices created this way can be edited and pushed to MyTax portal as normal, please refer to Invoice creation article for further info. 

Create a Progress invoice from Sales order

  1. Create the sales transaction with all involved sales items and/or services as a New Sales Order in the Sales Order Module



  2. Save the Sales Order and once it is Approved, click on the Convert to Invoice option



  3. You will be directed to a New Invoice screen, you will have some options such as

    1. to add a Invoice Subject

      1. for example: Invoice Jan 2025

    2. adjust the invoice items to reflect how much the invoice will charge the client

      1. for example change quantity to 10% of total items

  4. Once you have finished adjusting the Invoice, click Save



  5. You can now push the invoice to MyInvois portal

    1. you can also view the associated Sales Order on this page



Notes
The Sales Order can then be converted into additional invoices as needed until the full amount of the Sales Order has been invoiced
